시간의 흐름을 다루는 초월적 공간
홍티 라운지의 공간 디자인은 자연으로 회귀를 바라며 초월적인 관점을 통해 홍티 브랜드의 정체성과 서사에 대한 우리의 해석에서 시작되었다. 이곳은 투자 방식을 강연하는 곳으로 시간의 가치는 돈의 가치와 동등하다는 이념을 가지고 있다. 돈을 다루는 일은 속도라는 속성을 통해 사람의 본성과 행동에 드러나게 된다. 빠르게 처리하고 결과를 바라는 마음, 하지만 투자는 긴 시간을 스스로 다루는 일이다. 그렇기에 라운지에서는 빠른 속도감의 시간 감각이 아닌 여유롭고 편안함을 공간의 분위기를 통해서 전달한다.
규모를 가늠할 수 없는 압도적인 분위기
돌덩어리의 무게감, 금속의 일렁임, 흙벽의 다공성, 천장 루버를 새어나오는 빛, 알라바스타의 황홀한 조명이 공간을 압도하게 된다. 각 재료는 고유의 물성과 구법으로 빚어져 우주와 같은 초월적인 분위기를 조우한다. 크리스토퍼놀란 감독의 영화를 예로 들면, 인셉션에서는 꿈속과 현실의 시간 차이를 다루고 인터스텔라에서는 우주와 지구의 시간 차이를 통해 개인의 주관적 시간의 흐름과 물리적 시간의 흐름이 다르다는 것을 보여준다. 그러면서도 거대한 스케일을 통해서 심리적인 압박감과 긴장감을 유지하게 하는 장면들을 담아 전달한다. 라운지의 공간은 재료의 물성과 스케일을 다루어 압도적인 분위기를 만들어내고 그 안의 사람들에게는 점유하는 영역을 넓혀주고 감지하지 못할 정도의 시간이 흐른다. 돈을 좇는 일은 성급하고 속도감이 빠르게 표현되기 마련이지만 반면 여유롭고 편안함을 가지며 시간을 다르게 쓰고자 의도하여 라운지를 조성했다.
전체 공간은 두 개의 섹션으로 나뉘는데, 홀을 들어서면 서 있는 라운드 테이블은 고유한 흐름을 만드는 동시에 무게감 있는 돌이 자리잡고 있다. 그리고 강연장은 흙벽의 적층과 천장의 곡면 루버 사이로 퍼지는 빛에 의해 신비로움을 가지는 황홀한 색의 향연을 이루 는 홍티의 브랜드 정체성과 내러티브의 표현이다. 우리는 이 곳이 동서양을 막론해 초월적인 공간의 오마쥬로 공감각적인 관점을 보여줄 공간이라 생각한다.
A transcendent space narrating the passage of time
The spatial design of the HongT Lounge began with our interpretation of the identity and narrative of the HongT brand from a transcendental perspective, hoping to return to nature. It is a venue where we instruct on investment techniques, with the belief that the worth of time is equivalent to the worth of money. Dealing with finances reveals the essence of human nature and behavior through the element of swiftness. Although people want to handle things quickly and get results, investing is about dealing with long periods of time. Therefore, the lounge conveys a sense of relaxation and comfort through the atmosphere of the space, not a sense of fast-paced time.
Overwhelming feeling of being out of scale
The weight of the stone, the shimmer of the metal, the porosity of the earthen walls, the light streaming through the ceiling louvers, and the brilliance of the Alabasta lighting overwhelm the space. Each material is shaped with its own unique physicality and technique to create an atmosphere that is transcendent and cosmic in scope. For example, Director Christopher Nolan's Inception explores the time difference between dreams and reality, and another film Interstellar shows the difference between the subjective and physical passage of time by using the time difference between space and Earth. At the same time, he conveys scenes that keep the audience on the edge of their seats in suspense through the massive scale. The lounge space creates an overwhelming atmosphere by presenting the materiality and scale of materials and expands the territory of people in it while time passes imperceptibly. Although the pursuit of money is often associated with urgency and haste, the lounge was established to foster a culture of slowing down, relaxation, and alternative time usage. The entire area is split into two parts. The circular table, located upon entering the room, secures a unique atmosphere, and a weighty stone is also there. The stacked earthen walls and the filtered light through the ceiling's curved louvers in the lecture hall establish a captivating and jubilant display of color. As a result, the lecture hall becomes an expression of HongT's brand identity and narrative. We believe that this space illustrates a synesthetic perspective as an homage to a transcendent space, bridging the East and West.
